Jeez, this next story has me torn. On one hand I wanna extol perhaps the best director name I’ve come across, Park Bench. On the other hand, I’m harboring a few reservations about his first feature THE DEATH OF ALICE BLUE, as it looks to continue the all too familiar trend of touchy feely vampires-in-society. Let’s give the dude the benefit of the doubt though, shall we?!?
Park, who’s played bit parts in such cool movies as AMERICAN PSYCHO and BRIDE OF CHUCKY, sets his writing/directing debut about:
Shy Alice Blue, the new creative intern at Raven Advertising. Unfortunately for her the place is run by vampires. A group of eccentrics enlist her aid in thwarting their nefarious schemes but there’s a complication. There’s the possibility that she herself may be genetically predisposed to being the greatest vampire ever, and the only one who can save the dying breed. Alice is forced to confront herself and make a stand, whatever the outcome.
Let it be said this flick does seem to have more of an edge and biting (sorry, couldn’t resist) sense of humor, so that’s definitely a plus. Besides, the song in the trailer ain’t so bad!
Alex Appel assumes the titular lead, supported by Bench himself alongside Amanda Brugel, Michael Curuana, Conrad Coates, Juno Mills Cockell, Carolyn Dunn, Megan Fahlenbock, Katie Griffin, John Healy and Barbara Radecki.
The flick’s been hitting the U.S. festival circuit since March of this year, yet there’s still no telling when we can check it out. You’ll know when we do, but until then cop a dose of the trailer and a shot clip from the film.
