L.Bones featurette 2

Just yesterday we offered up a cool clip and new poster from Peter Jackson’s lyrical death ode THE LOVELY BONES.

Well today we have a nice correspondence piece, a Royal Premiere featurette in which the acclaimed director and various stars from the film (including Susan Sarandon, Saoirse Ronin, Reece Ritchie and Michael Imperioli) discuss a bit about the project (check it below).

And despite the film receiving tepid early reviews, one thing remains pretty damn scalding – Mrs. Susan Sarandon, who at 63 and playing an official grandma in film, still looks great (Sarandon a GILF? Damn I’m getting old!)

Based on the Alice Sebold best-seller, THE LOVELY BONES is about a 14 year old girl who after being raped and murdered, watches her family and assailant from heaven, vacillating between vengeance and her ability to help her family grieve.

Aside from the priors mentioned, Mark Wahlberg, Rachel Weisz, Thomas McCarthy, Jake Abel, Amanda Michalka and a stunningly sleazy Stanley Tucci round out the cast.

THE LOVELY BONES opens wide January 15, 2010.
