It’s always nice to see when a little indie horror flick gets picked up for wide distribution of the home video variety, as is the case with the recently announced BUTCHERED, which was just picked up for distribution by Anthem Pictures.
Anthem Pictures is behind such films as 100 TEARS and DEAD AIR, so BUTCHERED should get a righteous distribution deal and not just dropped out there with little-to-no fanfare. So what’s BUTCHERED all about? You’re gonna love this…
a group of teens take a small charter boat to an isolated island for one last party and to say their goodbyes before college – they have no idea that a convicted serial killer has escaped from the Maximum Security Prisons Death Row, taking cover on the very same island. With no working cell phones, no weapons and no way off the island, they must fight to survive as the Butcher picks them off one by one.
And you thought the slasher genre was dead! Ha! BUTCHERED laughs in the face of such rumors! It looks like a decent flick, in a cheesy, care-free sort of way. Check out the teaser trailer below and see what I mean. Low budget? Yes. Big fun! You betcha!
