Perhaps in the wake of the global economic meltdown, studios are welcoming disaster tales and apocalyptic musings with open arms. And Fox isn’t exempt from such a trend, as THR posits that the studio has just bought an untitled pitch about the end of the world called NOCTURNE.
Word also is that UNDERWORLD filmmaker Len Wiseman is in negotiations to bring the vision to fruition.
With no script or scribe yet attached, the pitch focuses on a band of people who survive the end of the world and the cryptic dealings of how they got to such a point.
Wiseman is currently hard at work on the 4th UNDERWORLD film (which holds a 2011 timeframe).
Can’t get your apocalyptic fix soon enough, look out for Roland Emmerich’s 2012 (Nov. 13), as well as John Hillcoat’s THE ROAD (Nov. 25).
