Producer Stephen L’Heureux recently had a chance to sit down and chat it up with Comins2Film at Mania.com about some of his upcoming projects, including SIN CITY 2. This may be one of the most anticipated sequels in development right now, and one that seems to always be talked about–but never made.

But L’Heureux seems confident the film will actually start soon. Here’s what the dude had to say: L’Heureux confirmed for [Comins2Film] that the long-awaited sequel ‘Sin City 2’ will go into production in the second half of 2010. Unlike the first movie, which used the graphic novels as both screenplay and story boards, the sequel will be based on an original script by Miller. As with the original, Miller will co-direct with Robert Rodriguez.

In other words, at this time next year, there should be a SIN CITY in production, with hopes of a Summer 2011 release? Makes sense to me! Let’s just hope Miller can take direction from Rodriguez on how to direct while they’re on set. Maybe it’s just me, but THE SPIRIT left a real nasty taste in my mouth, shedding all sorts of doubt on Miller’s ability to direct worth a damn.

For more on what L’Heureux had to say, including another movie he and Miller are working together on known as HARD BOILED, head THIS WAY, and stick around for more solid confirmation on SIN CITY 2 as we hear it!
