2009 will be known as the year of the little horror movie that could with the insanely successful PARANORMAL ACTIVITY. Thanks to the marketing strategy by Paramount Pictures, PARANORMAL ACTIVITY’s popularity seems to have gone through the roof due to the DEMAND IT campaign, promising with enough DEMANDS, the film will come play in your town.
Earlier this week we told you about their promise that with 1 Million demands, the film will open nationwide (check it HERE). Well, the film hasn’t hit that mark yet, but will likely do so by next weekend (it’s in the 800,000s now); however, that doesn’t mean it isn’t being released in a crapload of other places!
With reported sell-outs of just about every midnight screening across the board, and earning over $1M in it’s super limited release, the film is hitting theaters in the following cities this weekend: ATLANTA, AUSTIN, BALTIMORE, BATON ROUGE, BOSTON, CHARLOTTE, CHICAGO, CINCINNATI, CLEVELAND, COLUMBUS, DALLAS, DENVER, DETROIT, DURHAM, El PASO HOLYOKE / AMHURST, HOUSTON, INDIANAPOLIS, KANSAS CITY, LAS VEGAS, LINCOLN, LOS ANGELES, MADISON, MIAMI, MINNEAPOLIS NORFOLK, SANTA CRUZ, NEW YORK, ORLANDO, PHILADELPHIA, PHOENIX, PITTSBURGH, PORTLAND, SACRAMENTO, SALT LAKE CITY , SAN ANTONIO, SAN DIEGO, SAN FRANCISCO, SEATTLE, TAMPA, TORONTO, TUCSON, and WASHINGTON DC..
Chances are you live near atleast one of those cities, but if not, I wouldn’t fret–I’m sure by next week’s time, more reviews will hit, the word of mouth will spread, DEMANDS will hit 1M, and the beast will be in theaters everywhere just in time for Halloween.
