Yesterday news broke that The Weinstein Company’s (TWC) put a hold on the recently announced HALLOWEEN 3D (check out the story HERE). We wanted to find out the nitty gritty about why, and asked director Patrick Lussier for any more details he could share on the announcement. And like a champ, Lussier responded.

All of us, Bob, Malek, Todd and myself were all on the same creative page. There was a very narrow window for us to move forward. That window closed for now. After Drive Angry, there’s a chance it’ll open again.

And there you have it, straight from the horses mouth (so to speak). Honestly, this may have been the best news I’ve heard all week. Not that I don’t want to see a 3D HALLOWEEN movie, I just don’t want to see a sloppy / rushed 3D HALLOWEEN movie, and from the sounds of it, Lussier and the Weinstein’s didn’t either. Good shit. Maybe the extra time will allow for a better movie…

And what of DRIVE ANGRY? A vengeful father chases after the men who killed his daughter. Sounds awesome, sounds like a winner, and HALLOWEEN 3D sounds like the perfect follow-up to that kind of film. Stick around for any further news on the subject as we hear it!
