Death kills B.O. again

With the 3-day Labor Day weekend wrapping up nicely today in the States, so does the 3-day movie going experience. While not a ton of people went out and caught a flick this weekend. those who did had one thing in mind: death in 3D and that’s exactly what they got!

THE FINAL DESTINATION 3D killed the box office once again, taking the #1 spot for the second week jn a row, beating out the other three big new releases, including the kick-ass and highly superior GAMER.

While $12.4M isn’t that great, a drop of more than 44% from last weekend, THE FINAL DESTINATION managed to show the world that deaths in 3D is what the people want, and that THE LAST FINAL DESTINATION is surely on its way to be greenlit anytime soon, especially since FINAL has already scored a whopping $47M at the B.O., which is what the entire run of FINAL DESTINATION 2, and just a few million shy of the other two FINAL movies. Impressive. Sad, since the movie was dumber than a box of cocks, but impressive.

I’m surprised that GAMER took a crappy 4th place with $9M mostly cause I flippin’ loved that movie and that it was a way better ride than FINAL. But apparently that’s just me. If it was GAMER 3D, I suppose it might have done a little better. Oh, and Rob Zombie’s HALLOWEEN 2 crashed hard in its second week, barely cracking the #6 spot, coming in behind the most-impressive DISTRICT 9.

Check out the top six box office numbers for this past weekend below, and if you wanna ensure more R rated horror movies come your way, be sure to see next weekend’s SORORITY ROW. I mean, it has to be better than THE FINAL DESTINATION, right?

1. The Final Destination $ 12.4 Million
2. All About Steve $ 11.2 Million

3. Inglourious Basterds $ 10.8 Million
4. Gamer $ 9 Million

5. District 9 $ 7 Million
6. Halloween 2 $ 5.6 Million
