BOONDOCK SAINTS 2
TRAILER

Arrow Addition: In 1999 after quite the battle with the film industry and with himself (see the
gripping 2003 doco OVERNIGHT for juice on that) bartender turned director TROY DUFFY saw his flick
THE BOONDOCK SAINTS get a limited release with zero to no fanfare. But the
flick nabbed itself a hardcore cult audience via its home video release and its
TV play and now 10 years later we get a sequel, THE BOONDOCK SAINTS: ALL SAINTS
DAY (slated for a November 1st
release) and you know what? It looks
f*king awesome! See the TRAILER below!

RAMBO 5 is on!

For fans of RAMBO (who the f*ck isn’t?), prepare to crap your pants! According to Variety, Nu Image/Millennium Films has greenlit RAMBO 5, with Sylvester Stallone returning to star and direct!
And just check out the brief storyline we’re given for the fifth installment: [RAMBO 5] revolves around Rambo fighting his way through human traffickers and drug lords to rescue a young girl abducted near the U.S.-Mexico border.
You’re goddamn right he is! Production is scheduled to start this spring. presumably after all EXPENDABLES post-production is wrapped up. There is a god, and he has given us the chance to see Rambo blowing motherf*ckers away on the big screen once again. Let’s hope for even more violence than the last one!
And in other Stallone news, he’s being honored at this year’s
Venice International Film Festival.

Cage Drives Angry in 3D!

The Hollywood Reporter has announced that Nic Cage is set to star in the upcoming revenge action thriller DRIVE ANGRY from director MY BLOODY VALENTINE 3D director Patrick Lussier. Oh, and did I mention DRIVE ANGRY is set to be in 3D??? Cause it is!
Written by VALENTINE team Lussier and Todd Farmer, DRIVE ANGRY goes like this: [DRIVE ANGRY] focuses on a man (Cage) driven by rage who is chasing the people who killed his daughter and kidnapped her baby. The vendetta/rescue spins out of control as the chase gets bloodier by the mile, leaving bodies strewn along the highway.
F*ck yeah! And in 3D no less. This bitch is gonna be great, and it’s already screaming of an R rating. Can Farmer and Lussier do anything other than R? I don’t think so! The flick’s coming from Nu Image/Millennium Films (same as RAMBO 5), so there’s no doubt they’re gonna go for hardcore here. Nic Cage in 3D? Is the world ready for it?

Writer hired for Bad Boys 3!

Columbia Pictures is hoping to reignite the BAD BOYS franchise by hiring writer Peter Craig to take a stab at BAD BOYS 3! While nothing is set in stone, Columbia is hoping to reunite director Michael Bay with Will Smith and Martin Lawrence for the third go-round.
BAD BOYS 3? Why the hell not? Lawrence isn’t doing shit, Bay needs something other than robots to blow up, and Smith needs to redeem himself for the bore known as HANCOCK. I’m down for this one, even if BAD BOYS 2 was a pile of excessive poop. Bring it!

New Bronson pics!!

Tom Hardy busts out with a few new pics as BRONSON, playing the role of the true life criminal who liked to kick ass and sport the same name of the great Charles Bronson. Or, if you wanna be a dick about it, it’s about a young man who was sentenced to 7 years on prison for robbing a post office and ends up spending 30 years in solitary confinement. During this time, his own personality is supplanted by his alter ego, Charles Bronson.
If the title and synopsis doesn’t bleed testosterone, these new pics will! BRONSON is rated R for violent and disturbing content, graphic nudity, sexuality and language. Hells yeah.

Lionsgate Action 2010 Line-up!

In a move that’s both awesome and sad at the same time, Lionsgate busted out some titles for it’s 2010 line-up, including KICK-ASS and THE EXPENDABLES. Both films are in high-regard here in the Action Round-Up, and I’m happy to report that KICK-ASS has scored an April 16th release date! See, that’s awesome. What makes me sad is that THE EXPENDABLES has been pushed back to August 20th, a full four months later than originally expected!
Normally I’d say this is cause Lionsgate thinks the film needs more time to perfect, but because of INGLOURIOUS BASTERDS making a killing at the box office, I’d say Lionsgate is capitolizing on its success and hoping for the same mid-August love for EXPENDABLES. Smart move. I’m just bummed we gotta wait 4 more months to see it! Then again, we’ll have the action-packed KICK-ASS to hold us over…
