Stan Helsing poster

A new poster for Anchor Bay Entertainment’s STAN HELSING has been released, proving that it’s going to be more ridiculous and over-the-top than we had originally expected. But at least it’s going straight to DVD October 27th, and won’t be seen by the masses theatrically.

We announced the DVD earlier this week (check it out HERE), but the poster art was pretty low-res and crappy looking. The poster above is what happens when shits turns hi-res and uncreative minds are at work. Superman? What the hell is Superman doing up there?

There’s not an ounce of me that cares to see this movie, not even a little bit. With flicks like DISASTER MOVIE, EPIC MOVIE, and all of the damn SCARY MOVIEs (though, I’ll admit, I liked the first one) hitting theaters left and right, I’ve come to the conclusion that this genre, which were awesomely done in the NAKED GUN series, is completely dead. They’re just not funny anymore. And this looks like one of the crappiest of the bunch. But at least there’s a crapload of horror icons in the mix to keep things interesting!

As if it matters, STAN HELSING follows the misadventures of hapless video store clerk Stan Helsing (Steve Howey) and his friends. During what should be a routine video delivery on Halloween night before going to a Halloween party, Stan and company find themselves stranded in the mysterious residential development of Stormy Night Estates. There, Stan learns of his true destiny as a descendant of the legendary monster-hunter Van Helsing.

Look for that shit on DVD October 27th, and have a blast with the crappy poster above. E.T.? Superman? Yeesh…
