UPDATE: The DVD cover art is below, and another source is claiming the release date is October 20, 2009. Stick around as we find out which date is the correct one.
I’ve been following the remake of TERROR TRAIN, simply known as TRAIN, for years. Literally years, since the project started back in 2007. Well, we’re just about able to put this badboy to rest as Lionsgate has officially announced TRAIN’s release date… on DVD.
Bummer that after all these years of waiting for the remake, directed by Gideon Raff and starring Thora Birch, it comes to a rather unclimatic release on DVD. Set your calendars for November 17, 2009, because that’s when TRAIN arrives in stores everywhere.
After Halloween? Really? After all that waiting they pull a release after the one day that might actually bring this film some cash? That’s insane. Here’s the new official synopsis: Touring Eastern Europe with her college wrestling team, Alex (Thora Birch – American Beauty) attends a debauched late-night party that causes her and several teammates to miss their train to Odessa. Her coach is furious, but a mysterious woman offers the group a ride on an alternative train. The coach agrees, and the athletes, exhausted and hung over, gratefully climb aboard. However, this train harbors a deadly secret, and for Alex and her fellow passengers, a blood-soaked nightmare is just beginning.
Wait–she’s on the wrestling team? Oh man. This just keeps getting better by the minute. Novermber 17th can’t get here fast enough.
