And to this, I say, about flippin’ time! The official poster for THE DESCENT: PART 2 has leaked its way online this morning, and all I can say is… holy hell is this thing generic!
Not just the official poster, but the official UK quad poster, featuring a bloody chick, a humorously fake looking demon/monster/devil, and a tagline that screams “just another generic sequel!” Color me unexcited.
The flick stars Natalie Mendoza, Krysten Cummings, Anna Skellern, Gavan O’Herlihy, Joshua Dallas, and Douglas Hodge, and is directed by Jon Harris. PART 2 takes off where the first one left off… Emerging from the cave system alone, distraught and covered in the blood of her missing companions, Sarah is incoherent and half-wild with fear. Skeptical about her account of events and convinced Sarah’s psychosis hides far darker secrets, Sheriff Vaines doesn’t waste time. Along with his partner Rios, and their cave rescue team Dan, Greg, and Cath, Vaines forces Sarah back into the caves to help the rescuers find her friends.
They could have also named this THE DESCENT: WITH SOME DUDE IN IT. Oh well, it’s to be expected that a sequel of this level came our way considering the epic awesomeness of the original. THE DESCENT: PART 2 hits UK theaters on December 4th, with a North American release still unannounced. We’ll keep you posted.
