Beckinsale in UW4?

After news broke earlier this week and last about a fourth UNDERWORLD movie hitting the big screen in 3D (check it HERE), it was only a matter of time before the casting rumors started flying. Like today, as B-D is reporting that the smokin’ hot Kate Beckinsale has signed on to star in UNDERWORLD 4!

This is to be taken strictly as rumor at this point, as the two sources that have reported this rumor are yet to be identitied, and are definitely not “official studio reps.” That said, people talk, and it sure as shit wouldn’t surprise me if Beckinsale did decide to return for another go round for leather and ass-kickery. I mean, what the hell else is she doing, right?

This rumor goes in conjunction with the report that the new film (and new trilology of movies) will center once again on the character of Selene, who was played by Beckinsale in UNDERWORLD and UNDERWORLD 2: EVOLUTION. That again increases the likely hood that this rumor will eventually come to light as the real deal. Or it’s just hopeful studio execs trying to stir up some buzz.

While I wouldn’t mind seeing Beckinsale’s hotness on the big screen again, I also think more time and effort should be given to where things were left with UNDERWORLD: RISE OF THE LYCANS, as I thought it was a better movie than the previous two films… but hey, that’s just my opinion.

To check out the full scoop, click HERE, and take it with a grain of salt as it’s still a huge fat flippin’ rumor at this point. UNDERWORLD 4 is set to hit theaters January 21, 2011.
