Oh man, I don’t know what the F to make of this brand new pic up top. Yup, that is the first official image of Salma Hayek as “The Bearded Lady” in this October’s THE VAMPIRE’S ASSISTANT. Now, I’m just so conflicted about this image. Not that it’s a terrible shot or anything. It’s just that, when I hear the name Salma Hayek, I instantly picture a hot, curvy, smooth-skinned Latino mama (like the one below); basically, the direct opposite of the picture above. Basically, I want to say that Salma looks hot, but that beard really ain’t doin’ it for me.
Oh, well. At least I do think that VAMP’S ASSISTANT does indeed look like one very hot genre commodity. The trailer, which you can view below, looks amazing: both funny and freaky. Plus, perhaps Salma gets a shave half-way through the flick? Then she’d just be her usual smooth-skinned hot self! I guess I’m looking forward to director Paul Weitz’s effort which also stars John C. Reilly, Josh Hutcherson, Jessica Carlson, Ray Stevenson, Ken Watanabe, and Orlando Jones. It releases on October 23rd.
