Eliza Dushku is coming… to the SyFy? Yup, the dark-haired, delectable delight will be showing up on the genre cable channel in the form of an actual movie premier. What the hell?! Are you telling me that a Dushku flick can’t score itself at least a limited theatrical release, but instead a SyFy premier? Apparently, that is the case for the long-delayed OPEN GRAVES, you know, that “FINAL DESTINATION/JUMANJI flick with surfers”. Maybe its cable fate is not so surprising.
Or, perhaps SyFy is really starting to up the ante (and quality) of the films it premiers. Just yesterday, my man, Eric, told us all that the CHILDREN OF THE CORN remake would be making its maiden bow on SyFy. In which case, we may be in for a treat when OPEN GRAVES makes its debut on September 19th. I hope so because I already consider that bikini-top pic of Ms. Dushku above quite the eye candy. What do you guys think? Take a look at the full plot:
A group of surfers in Spain discover an old board game that claims a life every time it’s played.
Simple enough. If handled right, it could be some whacky fun. I guess we can all find out for sure (if we all have cable) this September. GRAVES was directed by Alvaro de Arminan, and in addition to Dushku, stars Mike Vogel, Alex O’Dogherty, Ethan Rains, Naike Rivelli, Lindsay Caroline Robba, and Boris Martinez.
