According to the THR Blog, Australian actor Xavier Samuel has landed the first ‘new’ role in ECLIPSE and his first American role EVER. Wow. I’m speechless. Samuel is set to play f a “newborn vampire” named Riley, a good-looking college student who joins the plot of villain Victoria to murder protagonist Bella (Kristen Stewart). Riley is corrupted by Victoria, for whom he has an inexplicable weakness.
Oh goodness. Well, new casting aside, I’m actually looking forward to see what director David Slade has instore for the third and final outing in the TWILIGHT universe. I’ve been a fan of Slade for years, and he’ll always be a genre director in my eyes, so maybe he’ll bring a horrifying flair to the project the previous directors have not.
Look for Samuel to be plastered all over the place soon enough, and get ready for Slade’s ECLIPSE in theaters June 30th.
