Heathers 2 is dead

The boys over at MovieLine scored an interview with director Michael Lehmann, the man who delivered a little movie called HEATHERS some 20-odd years ago. The big question that was brought up? Will we ever see a HEATHERS 2?

No. No we won’t. I’m not gonna beat around the bush, get your hopes up, or straight-up lie to you, Lehmann is dead-set on there never being a sequel, no matter how hard star Winona Ryder wants, pleads, or talks about it.

No. Winona’s been talking about this for years — she brings it up every once in a while and Dan Waters and I will joke about it, but as far as I know there’s no script and no plans to do the sequel. A couple weeks ago everyone started talking about it and I guess Winona said the movie was gonna get made, and I thought, “I don’t know, maybe they did this without me?” But I got in touch with Dan Waters and he said he didn’t know anything about it. So I don’t think there’s any truth to it.

So not only is she a thief, but she’s f*cking liar too. Damn you Ryder for getting my hopes up, damn you straight to hell!!!! Ok, maybe not that extreme. But the idea did intrigue me, and now I’m only slightly let down. It must me all his booze in my system for the Fourth, it’s effin’ with my emotions. Or maybe it’s the acid.

Anyway, to check out the full interview, in which Lehmann talks about his thoughts on the many countless rip-offs of HEATHERS since it was released, go ahead and click HERE.
