Experimental casting!

Sometimes you hear about some casting news that just totally blows you away. Case in point is THE EXPERIMENT, a new psychological thriller from Inferno Entertainment and Magnet Media Group. Check out who just landed roles in this mofo: Adrien Brody, Forest Whitaker, Elijah Wood, and Cam Gigandet!

That’s one f*cking impressive line-up, yo! But will THE EXPERIMENT be a waste of our time? With a cast like that, I’m gonna say ‘no,’ but let’s see what this bitch is about first: [THE EXPERIMENT is] centered on a group of ordinary men recruited to take on the roles of guards and prisoners as part of a research study and examined how the effects of assigned roles, power and control affected the participants.

Well that explains why there’s no chicks cast in this movie yet! Not sure if it’s quite AITH material, but as it leans towards psychological thriller, I’m guessing there’s some mindf*ck twist in there to hook us in. Plus, the original film seemed to be right up our alley. Brody will play the leader of the prisoners, while Whitaker will play the leader of the guards… with a power trip.

This flick is a remake of the German flick DAS EXPERIMENT from Oliver Hirschbiegel, which is said to be pretty flippin’ awesome. The new flick will be directed by Paul Scheuring (of ‘Prison Break’ fame), based on his screenplay… based on the previous film. Cool beans.

The casting so far is impressive, and that alone as me interested. Sounds like one crazy-ass experiment, yo! Filming is set to begin in Iowa of all places next month… stick around for more updates on THE EXPERIMENT as we hear it!
