So the rumblings of an actual, full-length MACHETE movie have been going on ever since GRINDHOUSE opened over two years ago. Now, the man behind all those sharp blades, Mr. Danny Trejo, has given word in an interview with Gordon and the Whale that the film is going to start shooting very soon — like, in five weeks!
Whoa, unless Trejo is a liar, that is some pretty cool friggin’ news! Apparently, he spoke with MACHETE creator, Robert Rodriguez, just the other day and learned of the forthcoming five-week start time. My only question right now is, why the f*ck do I still not believe that this is happening? I guess the thought of a full-length version of Danny hacking his way through bad guys and lovin’ his way through hot ho’s just sounds too incredible to be true.
I guess we’ll all see for sure in a mere five weeks time. Till then, I’ll keep my eyes and ears open for any further developments with this project.
