A few weeks ago we told you about a little movie being revamped for the big screen: BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER (check that shit out HERE). Not a remake of the original film with Kristy Swanson and Luke Perry, nor a big-screen version of the Sarah Michelle Gellar series, but an actual revamp of the entire universe, going forth in a new direction–minus series created Joss Whedon.
Such negativity was brought down on a Whedon-less BUFFY that the producers involved with the new BUFFY eventually approached Whedon to jump on board the project. So what happened? Whedon talked with Entertainment Weekly and had this to say about the transaction: I think that’s something better left untouched by me. So, I wish them luck.
In other words, not only did he say no, but f*ck no! Good for him, considering they didn’t feel the need to contact him before they announced the project and received such negative feedback. I literally don’t know of a single soul who thinks this revamp of the series is a good idea.
