A couple months back I shone some light on the new upcoming flick from director Brad Anderson (THE MACHINIST) called VANISHING ON 7TH STREET. The film already had some top-tier talent signed on in John Leguizamo (THE HAPPENING) and Thandie Newton. And now it seems Mr. Anderson is in the process of adding yet another well-known name to the list.

Young Darth Vader himself, Hayden Christensen (AWAKE, right), is currently in talks to take a trip to 7TH STREET. When not being directed by George Lucas, I think Christensen is a fairly competent actor. Plus, after watching himself on screen in ATTACK OF THE CLONES, I’m sure he can do scary with ease. Here’s the flick’s strange plot:

Following a mysterious blackout, most of the population vanishes into thin air. As the remaining survivors converge in a small tavern to figure out what happened, the darkness returns to claim them one by one.

There’s just too much talent behind and in front of the camera for me to pass this VANISHING up. Shooting is looking to begin later on this month in Spokane, Washington as well as New York. I’ll give you guys more as I hear it.

When given the choice of putting a pic of Thandie Newton or Christensen’s AWAKE so-star, I went with the Alba
