I did finally get the chance to check out QUARANTINE and I still don’t understand why the f*ck they would give away the ending in both the trailer and the poster (as you can see up top). That may have been my biggest gripe (other than the camera moves so fast you can’t tell what the hell is happening at times). Anyways, we all know that this flick was a remake of the Spanish film [REC]. And now a [REC] 2 is being made. What do you think that means for us in the States?
Of course! Get ready for QUARANTINE 2! The sons of guns over at Bloody D got word that Screen Gems is looking for a totally original pitch for the sequel separate and apart from [REC] 2. I’m not sure why we need to trouble ourselves with another trip back to QUARANTINE-ville, but perhaps the flick will benefit by not attempting to fit within the realms of the Spanish version. I believe that the first QUARANTINE stuck pretty close to most of the elements from the original [REC] and it didn’t serve the production well.
What do you guys think? Should Screen Gems concentrate their efforts on another version of the big Q? Or should they attempt shitting all over, I mean, remaking another watered-down PG-13 super dud like PROM NIGHT?
