For a flick that’s being released directly to DVD from the notorious mockbuster cheesio company, The Asylum, MEGA SHARK VS. GIANT OCTOPUS sure is getting a lot of attention. Maybe it’s because of the outlandish title? Maybe it’s because it co-stars former pop star, Deborah Gibson? Or maybe it’s because the flick may actually kick some ass?! I can’t believe I’m actually going to say this, but that third possibility could be the answer. After checking out the new trailer for MEGA VS. GIANT, I have to admit, there sure seems to be some wild action.

The official synopsis for this film goes like this: The California coast is terrorized by two enormous prehistoric sea creatures as they battle each other for supremacy of the sea.
Enough is enough! This bad boy was written and directed by Jack Perez. In addition to Deborah, it also stars Lorenzo Lamas, Sean Lawlor, Jonathan Nation, and Vic Chao. It releases on DVD on May 19th (that’s next week).
