Speaking of horror legends, we’ve got some news on the granddaddy of them all! Christopher Lee — the master of Dracula from all those old-school Hammer Films as well as STAR WARS, LORD OF THE RINGS, and GREMLINS 2! Well, friends, it looks like Mr. Lee is returning to his Hammered roots by taking a role in the upcoming thriller THE RESIDENT for… Hammer Films! Good shit! Even better, the flick has already got some major talent signed on: Hilary Swank and Jeffrey Dean Morgan! Ms. Swank’s double-Oscar-winner abilities go without saying. And Mr. Morgan was amazing as The Comedian in this year’s WATCHMEN. With the addition of Lee, I’m thinking this RESIDENT may be worth checking into. Here’s the plot:
When a young doctor suspects she may not be alone in her new Brooklyn loft, she learns that her landlord has formed a frightening obsession with her.
So it’s one of those “he’s obsessed with you” thrillers. I think one of those came out recently and sucked balls. However, the talent involved here is so powerful, I’m thinking we’re gonna get something worthy of FATAL ATTRACTION… hopefully. THE RESIDENT is being directed by Antti Jokinen, who also wrote the script. I’ll keep my eyes open for more info as it comes up.
