Liz Shue for Sheriff!

Last week, Mr. Ammon hit you with the rumor FEARnet was running that Elisabeth Shue was set to swim with the fishes in Alex Aja’s PIRANHA 3-D, although the nature of the role – and of the rumor – was unconfirmed to say the least. He also told you that we’d keep you updated on the progress of this possibility. I won’t let him be called a liar. Not this time.

Well, it looks like we can stop calling it a rumor. According to Moviehole, the “deal is as good as done”. But who will Ms. Shue be playing? The role of the “take-charge” sheriff, Julie Forester. She’s also the mother of the central character, Jake (who is, naturally, a shy teen who will have to prove his worth in the face of danger).

PIRANHA 3-D will hit theaters on MARCH 19th, 2010. As always, we’ll keep you in the loop regarding the film’s progress. That’s what we do.
