Ah! Oh shit! That image up top looks like it hurts! I can barely look at it, but it’s just so sickly awesome! It comes courtesy of the new bad-ass genre offering, BIO-DEAD from writer/director Stephen J. Hadden. Now take a look at the toxically tenacious plot:
A hazmat team is sent to search for survivors after terrorists unleash a lethal toxic weapon into the atmosphere over Southern California. Deep within the uninhabitable region known as “The Zone,” they come across what appears to be an empty building, but after venturing inside, they soon find themselves being stalked by a vicious predator, while suffering from frightening hallucinations.
Sounds like there’s loads of space for potentially horrific action and gore. All that equates to a fun time in my book. According to Hadden, BIO was inspired by early 80’s, Italian post-apacalyptic cinema. Alrighty then!
The actors assembled for this unit are Derek Long (the dude getting the “socket surgery” up top), Matthew C. Norton, Tony Williams, Jacob W. Gentry, and punk-music veteran Rick Hall. For more info, you can check out the flick’s official site here.
