It’s never fun writing an article when a long-time genre talent passes away. But it is definitely important to give that great actor his due. Yesterday marked the passing of legendary character actor, Ron Silver (right). I’m certain you guys remember his deviously villainous roles in TIMECOP, THE ARRIVAL, and especially up against Jamie Lee Curtis in BLUE STEEL. Mr. Silver also kicked ass in the horror classic THE ENTITY.

All told, the man starred in over 80 films and television series and left a truly memorable stamp on the industry. Over the past 2 years, Mr. Silver had been fighting esophageal cancer before finally succumbing yesterday at the age of 62. His friend and colleague, Robin Bronk, made the following statement: “Ron Silver died peacefully in his sleep with his family around him this morning.”

Mr. Silver is survived by his son, Adam, and daughter, Alexandra. I’m certain that he will be very missed. We here at AITH wish his friends and family the very best.
