Well, hello Ms. Darko! It seems that the (long-awaited?) release of the DONNIE DARKO sequel simply titled S. DARKO is nearly upon us. It also appears that the title now has something added on to it: A DONNIE DARKO TALE. Anyways, the DVD is set to hit stores on April 28th and we now have your first look at what the artwork for the cover box will look like. Yeah, that’s it right up top. What do you think?

Personally, I kind of like it. I’m glad that “Frank the Bunny” still factors into the sequel in some way (he was one of my favorite characters of the original). I also think it’s pretty damn sweet the way Samantha Darko is sort of woven into the center of that waskily wabbit’s visage. I’m also digging the box’s tagline: It’s time to travel forward. Damn it! I hate to say it, but I do believe I am now officially intrigued by what this sequel may have to offer. Guess it’s time to add it to the ol’ Netflix account. While I do so, just take a refresher of the flick’s plot:

The story picks up seven years after the first film with little sister Samantha Darko and her best friend Corey (Briana Evigan, below) who are now 18 and on a road trip to Los Angeles when they are plagued by bizarre visions.

Samantha is played, once again, by the talented (in my opinion) Daveigh Chase. The rest of the cast includes Jackson Rathbone, Ed Westwick, James Lafferty, Matthew Davis, John Hawkes, and Elizabeth Berkely. S. DARKO: A DONNIE DARKO TALE was directed by Chris Fisher from a script by Nathan Atkins (no relation to Tom). To pre-order the flick on blue ray dvd, click right HERE.
