Insiders in The Home

This is a very cool-sounding horror offering that I’ve just heard about… and I also just learned that the flick has some amazing minds behind it… which now makes it even cooler! Said flick is called THE HOME and I’ll get to the plot in a second. First off, take a look at those “minds” involved in the producing department:

Franck Ribière and Vérane Frédiani, the producers behind the sick masterpiece INSIDE, are on board alongside Frodo himself, Elijah Wood. Plus, rocking the Executive Producer moniker is Richard Taylor who is the head of WETA (Peter Jackson’s company which will be handling THE HOME’s practical and creature effects). How’s that for a “dream team” of cinema solids? Now, onto that plot I spoke of:

After a young man is nearly killed during a horrible accident that leaves him physically and emotionally scarred. To recuperate, he is taken to a secluded nursing home where the elderly residents appear to be suffering from delusions. But after witnessing a violent attack, he soon realizes that the screams behind the walls are caused by more than hallucinations, and the residents are being preyed upon by twisted, monstrous nightmares that lurk within the home itself.

Oh, I’m definitely looking forward to this one. So far, nursing homes have had a nice track record in horror (see BUBBA HO-TEP). THE HOME will be directed by Kristoffer Aaron Morgan from a script by Eric Vespe. There are no listed cast members yet, but I’ll be keeping an eye out. Shooting is looking to begin in New Zealand this spring.
