TAKEN Interviews!
Our man JimmyO scored a couple of interviews with the two primary castmembers of TAKEN, the new asskicker of an action flick from writer-producer Luc Besson and director Pierre Morel. Clicking above will get you Liam Neeson; clicking below will get you Maggie Grace. Both are cool, so you might as well click ’em both! And while you’re at it, check out Arrow’s review of the flick right HERE!

The Keeper trailer!
If you click on the box below, you’ll be able to take a look at the trailer for Steven Seagal’s newest flick, THE KEEPER, which the Pony-Tailed One also wrote. Seagal plays an LA cop who after nearly being killed by his greedy partner, flees to New Mexico to work as a bodyguard for the daughter of a wealthy businessman. When mobsters kidnap her, he hunts them down to rescue her and protect her.

Rambo 5 is on!

While the action world hungrily awaits Sly Stallone’s latest directorial effort THE EXPENDABLES, it appears that the Muscled One is already cooking up his follow-up project. Low and behold, it’s RAMBO V! Stallone confirmed this to “Extra”, saying “the conflict is whether to do it in America or a foreign country.” Wherever it goes down, I’m sure ‘ol John will be as buff as ever, and ready to dish out his special brand of justice.

Joel Silver goes Fully Automatic!
Can this man wear a suit or what?!
This is news that will surely make any action junkie salivate: Joel Silver is getting back into the buddy flick genre! It has seemed like the man has been toiling away on high-tech Wachowski Bros. junk for far too many years now – it’s about time he got back into the type of flick he does best (think along the lines of LETHAL WEAPON and THE LAST BOY SCOUT). FULLY AUTOMATIC – from director Wayne Kramer (RUNNING SCARED) – follows two rookie cops out to make their mark and who team with a female former Delta Force operative to stop a mercenary who has stolen a cache of weapons. Sounds like fun to me! Casting will be crucial though – I’m praying one of the two cops isn’t f*ckin’ played by Chris Tucker…

Black Dynamite Posters!
Apparently, one of the more entertaining entries at this year’s Sundance Film Festival was BLACK DYNAMITE. (I say “apparently” because I wasn’t there, obviously, but the reviews have been very positive.) The 70s Blaxpoliotation throwback, starring Michael Jai White, is a spot-on spoof and tribute to the long-lost genre, and it was quickly snatched up by Sony, which plans on making it into a franchise. Talk about overnight success! It hits theaters later this year, but for now, enjoy these posters. (See more over at IMPAwards.)

The A-Team has a Director

Just a few days ago, it was announced that THE A-TEAM – originally to
be directed by John Singleton – has switched hands and is now being grappled by
Joe Carnahan, Ridley Scott, and Tony Scott. Even though I was never a watcher of
the show, I like this news, as Carnahan has shown he’s got a flair for intense
action, as well as dark humor (he directed the hard-hitting, dramatic NARC
and the violently entertaining SMOKIN’ ACES) – plus he isn’t the hack
Singleton has unfortunately turned out to be. The Scott Bros. will be producing,
which can only benefit Carnahan, who is still relatively new to this directing
game. Now let’s see if they assemble a kickass cast worthy of watchin’.
