Arquette Screams 4

For the love of Rose McGowan, I am so sick of hearing all these supposed ”SCREAM 4” rumors! Talk about beating a dead f*cking horse! Granted, the first SCREAM was a fun and inventive classic and parts 2 and 3 did a decent enough job at creating a trilogy… but where else can this series go?

Don’t give me any of that “remake/reboot crap” because the franchise is nowhere near old enough. Whatever crazy premise the studio may be trying to come up with, nothing will be able to make any plausible connection to the previous films. Yes, this is just my opinion, but please consider the outlandish back story that had to be surmised in order to make SCREAM 3 work. See what I mean? Plus, it doesn’t help that the killer in each subsequent sequel is always a copycat. Sure, it may always leave the door open to continue with more sequels, but that can only make the scenarios more and more ridiculous. It also disassociates the audience further from the original, which is a big no-no in my book.

Anyways, it seems that Deputy Dewey himself, Mr. David Arquette, hasn’t shot down the idea of a SCREAM 4 just yet. Just yesterday, the dude was being interviewed in Washington D.C. for the new Prez’s inauguration. Since the interview was by TMZ, it doesn’t surprise me that the question of a fourth “ghost face” came up. Here’s David’s response: “There’s big talk about it now, not just on the Internet. There’s actual calls being made.”

No offense to the Dew-meister, but I’ll only believe it when I see it. And I probably would go see it anyway. You know why? Because… I like scary movies!
