My Bloody’s moolah!

This past weekend, movie theaters were introduced to Harry Warden. He came, he saw, he killed… the box office! Yes indeed, MY BLOODY VALENTINE 3D (see The Arrow’s heart-warming review here) really raked, or should I say pick-axed, in the dough to the sum of nearly $22 million in just three days! For an R-rated, theatrically released horror flick not named SAW, that is pretty f*cking tight!

Obviously, the 3D campaign helped immensely (not to mention the extra two bucks you had to shell out for the glasses), but at least VALENTINE totally delivered in the shit-popping-out-off-the-screen ratio! What a fun friggin’ time it was! It’ll be tough to top this baby in terms of 3D gore for sure! Oh, and as an added bonus for all the truly faithful horror nuts out there: One of the absolutely best things about the flick was seeing Mr. Tom Atkins back on the big screen in all his bad-ass glory! In fact, he played a character very similar to his iconic “Detective Cameron” from NIGHT OF THE CREEPS. It just THRILLED ME!

One last piece of good news regarding MY BLOODY V’s box office success: it all but ensures we’ll get the sequel that director Patrick Lussier and writers Todd Farmer and Zane Smith have already been mentioning. I’m just waiting for the official announcement, which I bet will be soon! As soon as we hear something, you can be sure it’ll be posted right here at AITH!

Ms. King was fantastic in the flick!
