Holy shit, my friends! Are you ready for one out-there, backwards-time-traveling, sci-fi-ish thriller?! I hope so, because the almost indescribably trippy trailer that I just watched for it f*cking rocks! This new flick is called FRANKLYN and frankly, I have no idea why. The trailer may give a small hint, but nothing fully solid. Nonetheless, it’s got a way cool masked vigilante-type (shown in the poster up top) and the gorgeous Eva Green (shown in the poster down below). You can also click on the link below to check out that incredible trailer. First off, I have a layout of the plot. I’ve come across two versions of it, and I’d like to show you both (makes for a better understanding).

The film is a split narrative set simultaneously in contemporary London and in a future metropolis ruled by religious fervor. It’s the story of four lost souls, divided by two parallel worlds, on course for an explosive collision when a single bullet will decide all their fates.

Here’s the second synopsis:

Preest is a masked vigilante detective, searching for his nemesis on the streets of Meanwhile City, a monolithic fantasy metropolis ruthlessly governed by faith and religious fervor. Esser is a broken man, searching for his wayward son amongst the rough streets of London’s homeless. Milo is a heartbroken thirty-something desperately trying to find a way back to the purity of first love. Emilia is a beautiful art student; her suicidal art projects are becoming increasingly more complex and deadly.

Pretty engrossing, huh? FRANKLYN was written and directed by Gerald McMorrow. In addition to Green, the rest of the cast has Jay Fuller, Bernard Hill, Art Malik, Kika Markham, Ryan Phillippe, Gary Pillai, and Sam Riley. It opens February 20th in the U.K. No U.S. release date yet.
