This morning, Jared P. was kind enough to call our attention to the brand new trailer for the LAST HOUSE ON THE LEFT. I wasn’t sure what exactly to expect from the trailer… but damn, was I surprised! Brutal actions, intense imagery, and wait till you hear the cover of Guns ’n Roses’ Sweet Child of Mine! F*cking eerie! Suffice to say, I’m actually looking forward to this flick whenever it releases.

Along with the debut of the trailer, comes the unveiling of LAST HOUSE’s official website. You can click here to check it out. Along with the new trailer, you’ll only find a couple of old pics and a synopsis of the story. There ain’t much else. The only thing I found useful was the statement that the flick would be coming “This Spring.”

Regardless, I’m really interested in obtaining a general consensus of how this new LAST HOUSE is going to play out. What I mean is, I’m curious if it’ll be as highly controversial and graphic as the 1972 original. These days, it’s tough to get away with a whole lot of harsh imagery (until the DVD). The 2009 version is rated R for sadistic brutal violence including a rape and disturbing images, language, nudity and some drug use. But then again, who knows how far director, Dennis Iliadis, and writers, Adam Alleca and Carl Ellsworth, really went with everything.

The plot sounds exactly like the original’s: After kidnapping and butchering two teenagers, a gang unknowingly finds refuge with the parents of one of the victims — hosts who devise gruesome revenge. It stars Sara Paxton (below), Monica Potter, Garret Dillahunt, Martha MacIsaac, Tony Goldwyn, Spencer Treat Clark, and Riki Lindhome.
