Antichrist update

Taking a cue from the Dread Central boys, I’ve looked into the long talked about Lars Von Trier horror project ANTICHRIST, and found a new (very deep) synopsis and insight into who else is starring in the film. I assure you, you won’t f*cking believe it!

First off, the plot: He and she lose their little son and she subsequently suffers from terrible anxiety attacks. Her husband is a therapist, and in spite of warnings not to treat people with whom you have close relations, they begin to tackle her fears together, and in the place where her anxiety is strongest: Eden, a deserted cabin in the woods.

The tough therapeutic struggle develops into a battle of the sexes. Her fears inhabit them both and even he is not exempt from experiencing the merciless evil of nature. Natural brutality takes over and his cool reason is rendered futile. The evil in her runs wild.

Um… well yeah, sounds about right. Who is the antichrist in this situation? Probably the legendarily obnoxious director, who never met an actor he didn’t want to psychologically beat into submission…

In addition to starring Willem Dafoe and Charlotte Gainsbourg, ANTICHRIST apparently also features “The Deer (played by Fiona), the Fox (Bonifac) and the Crow (Blue and No-Name)”. I’m not kidding, you’ll finally get to see another amazing performance by the gifted, controversial Bonifac! (If you think I’m making this up, check out the Official Site.)

The site also claims ANTICHRIST is coming out in the summer of ’09. Can’t wait to see Fiona match wits with Dafoe, once and for all!

Bonifac, just chillin’ in between takes…
