Well, this new George Romero zombie flick just keeps getting more and more interesting. Seeing how we’ve known for a while that it takes place on an island, I’m sure most of us pictured tropical plants, sandy beaches, coconuts, the works. Well, I suppose all of those things might still be in there – but it sure would be odd seeing palm trees in a WESTERN!
That’s right. Fangoria got a peek at the actual set of the flick and is reporting that the film is more western than anything else. “The juxtaposition of the cowboys and the zombies is interesting,” executive producer and longtime Romero collaborator Peter Grunwald tells Fango. “This is a Western set in this made-up George Romero world.”
It’s safe to say I didn’t see this coming. While intrigued, I’m wary. Modern-day westerns are a tricky enough proposition; throw some zombies into the mix and this either be something special or an utter disaster. Which are YOU betting on?
