We got your ratings right here, buddy!

Dunno why I chose to open this article that way. Maybe because it’s true, dammit! The Hollywood Reporter recently unleashed the MPAA ratings for a slew of flicks, some of which may interest you, dear readers. Let’s get on with it!

First up: ALONE IN THE DARK 2, a film I don’t care about but can’t believe it’s getting a PG-13! That’s right, all this is going to offer us is violence, disturbing images and brief drug content. Not mentioned: gratuitous Danny Trejo. It hits DVD sometime next year.

Next we have Richard Kelly’s THE BOX (starring Cameron Diaz), which is also getting a PG-13, for thematic elements, some violence and disturbing images. Mommy, the thematic elements are scaring me!!

Then there’s After Dark’s DYING BREED (part of January’s HORRORFEST), which is going to give us the goods. Rated R for bloody violent content, language and some sexuality. Why thank you, Australia!

Finally there’s this plesant surprise: RESIDENT EVIL: DEGENERATION (on DVD this December), which you’ll remember is entirely CG, receives an R for bloody violence. What, no cyber nudity? Guess I’ll live…

See Cameron’s Box in March
