We’ve been living with the knowledge that a MOTEL HELL redux was in the works for quite some time. Heck, the movie even had a release date at one point (October 31), and a supposed director (Steven C. Miller) at another. It’s been through two production companies (MGM and Twisted Pictures). And here we sit, with no MOTEL HELL! What’s happening?
STYD caught up with producer Mark Burg the other day and found out it’s really not close to ready. You might even say it’s in development hell… “We were going to do it and we couldn’t come up with a script we liked… I’m not going to make a movie just to make a movie. We had a couple of drafts and none of them are good enough – so why do it?”
Is this a producer asking “Why do it?” in relation to a remake? Has the world gone completely insane? If not, looks like we’re not going to get a look at Farmer Vincent’s tasty sausage any time soon.
And in case you think I’m a weirdo, the original MOTEL HELL dealt with Farmer Vincent’s famous sausage business run out of a hotel that snags unsuspecting tourists and harvests them to become tomorrow’s smoky breakfast links.
