Of Silence & beyond

After working filming a very minor role in ZOMBIE STRIPPERS, it looks like actor Jeremiah Sayys (right) is opting for a change of pace for his next project (although the genre will remain the same). He will now be serving as writer, director, star and co-producer of a new film called OF SILENCE, which will have nothing at all to do with undead exotic dancers… But it will still be looking to scare and even possibly tug at your heartstrings. Here’s what it’s about:

The story centers on a scuba-diving instructor who’s life is falling apart. An inner-ear condition prevents him from teaching, so his business dries up and mounting bills and debts are closing in, all while he must cope with the suicide of his ex-wife. The pressure causes him to isolate himself, and soon he experiences strange events which may be linked to a world beyond our own.

I’ve always said we needed more genre flicks about scuba-diving instructors. And OF SILENCE looks like one compelling piece. Sayys (who also starred in the sci-fi thriller LEGENDS OF NETHIAH: THE NAMELESS) says that the flick is “influenced by the likes of ERASERHEAD, LOST HIGHWAY and THE TENANT.” As of now, no further cast members have been announced, but I’ll be keeping my ears open for anything further SILENCE has to say.
