How dead is the torture porn brigade exactly? I mean, SAW V is still coming out at the end of this month like always. Plus, I’ve lost count on the number of flicks released by the likes of Dimension Extreme that have done a little more than “borrowed” from the subgenre. Hence, the lastest exercise in glorified pain and suffering called BLACKWATER FARM. Here is how distributor Karma Enterprises describes their film:
In the tradition of HOSTEL and SAW comes a psychological thriller/horror when Laura and her friends take a wrong turn and end up at Blackwater Farm, where they are confronted by the eccentric owner who traps them in his maze-like mill and begins his bloody games of torture. As Laura struggles to save her friends from a fate worse than death, she finds that her past is interconnected to the owner of Blackwater Farm in more ways than she could have ever imagined.
Okay, I know that sounds somewhat generic and kind of unoriginal, but that hasn’t stopped horror flicks from being fun in the past. You can see for yourself by clicking right here to check out BLACKWATER’s extra cheesy trailer. Let’s just say that I highly doubt that this one will be getting the big screen treatment. But again, that doesn’t mean we may not enjoy it! Yee-ha!
