A ways back in June, Jared P. did a particular article on a flick called BURNING BRIGHT and the main reason I remember it (aside from Mr. P.’s brilliant writing) is because of its wild and crazy plot. Just look at this:
A 20 year-old and her autistic little brother are trapped in a house with a ravenous tiger during a hurricane.
Yeah, that’s it. How can you not be intrigued by a synopsis like that? So many questions come to mind like: How the hell did the tiger get in the house in the first place? Did a killer plant it there? Or did it just come in through the back door? Why is her brother autistic? So he can think the tiger is just a pet, thus increasing the danger scale? I could go on, but it’s probably best to just stop. What I’m trying to get at is that BRIGHT must have at least a couple neat tricks up its furry sleeve to get a studio to green light it.
The flick already definitely has one positive going for it in the sexy shape of Briana Evigan (below). The actress will be starring as the 20 year-old. Another positive that BRIGHT is bringing is its first teaser artwork up top. Not a bad poster at all, if I do say so. Plus, you can easily decipher why it’s called BURNING BRIGHT.
The flick is being directed by Carlos Brooks from a script by Christine Coyle Johnson and Julie Prendiville Roux. In addition to Evigan, the rest of the cast consists of Garret Dillahunt, Charlie Tahan, Mary Rachel Dudley, and Peggy Sheffield. I’ll be keeping my burning bright eyes out for any more info as it blows in.
