Blade Runner 2?

That was a chill you just felt run down your spine. Before panicking, know that there isn’t, to anyone’s knowledge, a BLADE RUNNER 2 going into production anytime soon… But it’s not out of the realm of possibility either, so don’t get too comfortable.

EAGLE EYE writer Travis Wright said so much recently at a screening, according to slashfilm sources. I’ll let them take it from here: “During the Q&A, the writer said that he and whomever it was that helped him co-write the ‘Eagle Eye’ screenplay were in the process of writing a sequel to Blade Runner, and had already contacted the producers of the original, etc., etc.”

It gets a bit more complicated, as Wright’s ex-writing partner John Glenn – having apparently read the article – informs the site personally that while they were once working on such a project, the two of them are not partners anymore. But he doesn’t call the project dead. Which means Wright is basically tackling it himself, apparently for producer Bud Yorkin (who hasn’t produced a movie in over a decade). I haven’t seen EAGLE EYE, but by most accounts it’s an utterly stupid movie, so that’s one reason to be wary of this “sequel”. Another reason is, it would suck. Like, suck big balls. Like, the kind’ve nasty balls you expect to be hanging from lumberjack. Like, the hairiest, dirtiest, most crud-covered ba – okay, you get the point. It’s an awful idea, stop it now before Michael Bay announces he wants to be involved…
