Yes, the buzz of a possible GHOSTBUSTERS 3 has been humming around our site like a freshly charged proton pack (see here, here, and here). The likelihood of a second sequel has currently been surprisingly positive and now, today, I think the final obstacle has been lifted… by Dr. Venkman himself!
That’s right! Once notoriously known as the “one holdout” in regards to another ’Buster, Bill Murray has now stated that the wounds of GHOSTBUSTERS 2 have all healed and it’s time to bust some specter ass once more! He also added that the third entry already has “a good start” with Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky, who write for THE OFFICE (my favorite show), working on the script. Also (you’re going to love this): Murray said that voicing Peter Venkman for the recent GHOSTBUSTERS video game was a huge help in convincing him to return… he was even singing Ray Parker Jr.’s theme song to himself all over again afterwards! I love it! That’s so Venkman!
This really is fantastic news! I can’t believe that within the next, say, three years, we will most likely be seeing that “No-Ghost” symbol in theaters again! Somebody call Rick Moranis’s agent!
