Has it been a little quiet on the FRIDAY THE 13TH campsite recently? The last time I remember hearing something about the Platinum Dunes remake was when we reported on it way back here. Well, today I’ve got some minor, but still relevant news regarding Jason’s re-invention. And that news focuses on… the unveiling of the first trailer in theaters!
Can you guess which upcoming flick the trailer is going to be attached to? I bet any fan of the genre would be able to (it’s pretty f*cking obvious). Just think, it would have to be a scary upcoming movie with a large fan base (so that A LOT of people will see it). Give up? It’s HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL 3!! And if you believe that, someone ought to stick an arrow through your neck! No, the real answer, of course, is SAW V, which opens on October 24th (like you didn’t already know that).
So now I have another reason to be excited for Jigsaw’s latest lessons in life! Even though this new FRIDAY seems a little too similar to the TEXAS CHAINSAW re-imagining, I’m still pretty stoked to see that hockey mask up on the big screen again. Hopefully director Marcus Nispel won’t disappoint (or recycle his CHAINSAW). The new FRIDAY THE 13TH hits theaters on Thursday, February 5th 2009… Just kidding again. I wanted to see if you were paying attention. Besides we all know that 2/13/09 is the real date!
