Scream Queen date

A ways back in July, I informed you guys about an upcoming VH1 reality competition called SCREAM QUEENS. I was happy to report that the judges selected for the series included horror writer/director mastermind, James Gunn, as well as Jigsaw’s #1 apprentice, Shawnee Smith. The third judge is acting coach John Homa (who I never heard of). Anyways, I was really looking forward to the show, but the only problem was I didn’t know when it was going to air.

Well, you can now consider that problem officially solved! The very first episode of SCREAM QUEENS will be televised on Sunday, October 12th. The precise time has yet to be given, though, but at least we’ve got a date! And I love the fact that it’s smack-dab in the midst of the Halloween season! Perfect timing! As for what we can expect from the show, here’s what Mr. Gunn said:

“Every week I guide the contestants through a Director’s Challenge – often involving ungodly, horrifying things, and scantily-clad-perhaps-even nude beautiful girls. Every week I sit on a panel with my fellow judges to kick someone off. I have heard through the editors that I am the asshole on the show. But you can see for yourself on Sunday, October 12th! I will be posting a behind-the-screams blog every week after the episodes air, with a little extra information about what went down as Shawnee Smith, John Homa, and I dashed another actress’s dreams!”

That really sounds like a blast. Personally, I feel that getting the Gunn on board for this will really lift it beyond the typical “reality show” fare. You can read more on his MySpace blog here.
