Well, here’s some good news for those who are unabashed lovers of the franchise, like me (well, the first 6 movies at least). At a recent horror convention in Kentucky, during a F13 panel (consisting of Adrienne King, Betsy Palmer, Harry Manfredini, Tom Savini, and Victor Miller), a Paramount rep supposedly spilled the delicious beans that when the new FRIDAY THE 13th boxset comes out in February (to coincide with the remake’s release, of course), we’ll be treated to an uncut version of the original horror classic. Wow! (Previously unseen footage holds new shots/angles of death scenes.)
In addition, the panel discussion that took place will also be featured on the DVD. It would appear that Paramount is going all out with this new box set, as their last attempt was seen as a serious gyp. (Although there’s been a rumor that only the FIRST 3 F13 flicks are getting the re-release treatment. Bummer if that’s the case.)
Is it asking too much to make Part III available in 3-D?! Better not be…
