Jack Ketchum, author of such vivid reads as THE GIRL NEXT STORE and OFFSPRING, has been slowly but surely breaking into the movie scene (those two titles have been made into films already), with more to come, as we found out today via a press release. Producers Eric Shapiro and Rhoda Jordan have optioned the rights to Ketchum’s RIGHT TO LIFE.

RIGHT TO LIFE centers on a pregnant woman who plans to get an abortion, but is kidnapped by a married couple before she can do so. The couple plans to hold the woman until the baby is born.

Shapiro and Jordan’s first film, RULE OF THREE, will be making its U.S. premiere at Austin’s Fantastic Fest later this month.

Shooting on RIGHT TO LIFE is expected to begin sometime in 2009.

Elisha Cuthbert was in THE GIRL NEXT DOOR… Okay, not the same flick we’re talking about – but who gives a shit?!
