Pontypool poster!

Well, my friends, we now have ourselves the first official poster for the horror flick we’ve been reporting on quite a bit (here and here) called PONTYPOOL. Just cast your peepers up top for a look.

I personally feel this inital one-sheet is fantastic. It’s so simple, yet perfectly convey’s the flick’s plot (which we all know is the main goal of a first poster). Hmm, I think I’ll show you the synopsis before I fully critique it:

What begins as another boring day on the air for shock jock Grant Mazzy quickly turns deadly when reports start piling in of people developing strange speech patterns and evoking horrendous acts of violence. But there’s nothing coming in on the news wires. Is this really happening?

Before long, Grant and his small staff find themselves trapped in the radio station as they discover that this insane behavior taking over the town is actually a deadly virus being spread through the English language itself.

Hence the poster’s tagline “Shut Up Or Die”, which I just love. And the erratic wavelength frequency in the background is the icing on the cake! I can’t wait till this one comes out.

It was directed by Bruce McDonald, written by Tony Burgess, and stars Stephen McHattie, Lisa Houle, and Georgina Reilly. It’s looking to release some time in 2009
