I’m sending a big thank you to my pal Jeff (who’s a huge Lon Chaney Jr. fan) for directing my eyes to the first official trailer for 2009’s THE WOLF MAN! As always, with any initial teaser offering from a highly anticipated film, we have good news and bad news. First the bad: the trailer was filmed at a convention by a handheld camera and you may not be able to hear any sound. It is indeed a bootleg. Now the good: you can see everything perfectly clear and the trailer is F*CKING AWESOME!!! Gothic settings, some great gore, actual transformation shots, and Anthony Hopkins in a beard!

Simply click RIGHT HERE to watch Benicio Del Toro unleash his inner beast! You’ll also see the gorgeous Emily Blunt (below).

In case you’ve been in an isolation chamber for the past 67 years, here’s the full plot: Lawrence Talbot, a haunted nobleman, is lured back to his family estate after his brother vanishes. Reunited with his estranged father, Talbot sets out to find his brother… and discovers a horrifying destiny for himself. Talbot’s childhood ended the night his mother died. After he left the sleepy Victorian hamlet of Blackmoor, he spent decades recovering and trying to forget. But when his brother’s fiancée, Gwen Conliffe, tracks him down to help find her missing love, Talbot returns home to join the search. He learns that something with brute strength and insatiable bloodlust has been killing the villagers, and that a suspicious Scotland Yard inspector named Aberline has come to investigate.

THE WOLF MAN is set to release on April 3rd 2009.
