We’ve got more news about Joss Whedon (BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER) and Drew Goddard’s (CLOVERFIELD, LOST) horror flick CABIN IN THE WOODS today. Well, nothing particularly juicy – we still don’t know what the thing is about (aside from the obvious) – but we’ve got a release date for you: OCTOBER 23, 2009. Yup, Halloweentime baby (I’m just getting excited about this Halloween), as well as SAW territory, but by god, out interest in that wheezing franchise will have subsided by then, no?

Whedon has called CABIN IN THE WOODS “… the horror film to end all horror films… literally.”

I’ma scared…

Goddard will make his directorial debut on the flick; both he and Whedon co-wrote.

Goddard and Whedon wrote for this little lass…
